Anthem U-Haul Expansion Approved

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

U-Haul got approval from the Anthem Community Council to roughly double the footprint of its self-storage facility in the Anthem Commerce Park. The company aims to expand to a 4-acre empty plot directly north of its existing facility on the west side of North Vision Way.

The new facility would include 93 storage units and more than 100 outdoor spaces for boats and RVs, a company representative said at the ACC’s monthly meeting April 26. The current facility is full, and 26 individuals are on a waiting list for the outdoor spaces, the rep said.

The new buildings, at 42202 N. Vision Way, will mirror the existing design, and the two parcels will come together as one, the company rep said. The location backs up to West Ravina Lane in the Desert Terrace neighborhood, with about 125 feet of open space between residences and the commercial space.
