Daisy Mountain Fire Department battled a small but quick-spreading brush fire in Desert Hills yesterday.

The fire, near 32nd Street and Cloud Road, burned about 10 acres in an area of sparse development just north of the Carefree Highway, about 6 miles east of I-17. Smoke was visible from the interstate and from many neighborhoods in North Phoenix in the afternoon.

“Crews were able to quickly get a hold of this fast-spreading brush fire yesterday,” DMFD said in a statement today. “No injuries were reported.”

DMFD extinguished a small brush fire Monday, Sept. 25, near 14th Street and Circle Mountain Road, about 5 miles north west of yesterday’s blaze.
