Triple Digits in the Forecast, But Not in North Phoenix

Every year around this time there’s chatter on the evening news, in the papers and on social media about when the Valley of the Sun will first hit 100 degrees. As of today, the National Weather Service predicts it could happen Sunday. But Accuweather begs to differ. And either way, it almost surely won’t happen in most of North Phoenix, where proximity to the mountains moderates the heat.

Wildflower Season Begins: Should Be a Great One

Heavy rains in recent weeks should bring an explosion of wildflowers, those in the know say. In fact, it’s begun. “The colorful poppies, lupine, globemallow and brittlebush are beginning to bloom right now, and will continue to do so during the next few weeks throughout the region,” said R.J.
