Anthem Go Green Recycling Event is Saturday, April 13

Anthem residents can purge all unwanted items each spring and fall. Here’s a snapshot of what you can bring. See the website for a complete list of acceptable and non-acceptable items. St. Vincent de Paul will be accepting donations. Proof of residency required, must be in line by 10:45 a.m.

Among accepted recyclables

bottled prescription and non-prescription drugs, mattresses, computers and peripherals, TVs, light bulbs, small appliances, batteries, waste oil, aerosol cans, oil-based paint (up to 5 gallons total per car—amount is determined by container, not amount within container), cardboard, residential papers to shred (limit of five banker-sized/computer paper boxes per person).

Among accepted donations

non-perishable food items, clothing, new socks, undergarments, toiletries, diapers and school supplies; new or gently used shoes; gently used blankets, toys, luggage and outerwear.

Among items not accepted

medical sharps (needles), yard waste, business documents, tires, large appliances; items containing PCBs (transformers, capacitors, fluorescent light ballasts), pressurized tanks (filled or not, including oxygen, helium, fire extinguishers, propane tanks), ammunition or explosives, or any items containing Freon.
