UPDATED 6:14 p.m. — Northbound Interstate 17 closed near New River due to a jackknifed truck sometime around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon. About 45 minutes later, traffic was passing on the shoulder at milepost 232 in New River, and by 6 p.m. the highway was cleared, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The following is from an earlier version of the story. No more updates will be made.
“Motorists should continue to expect lengthy delays until the jackknifed truck is moved from the roadway,” ADOT said in a statement.
At 4:30, a motorist reported the northbound closure going back to at least Anthem Way.
“Southbound lanes remain open,” ADOT said, but advised northbound motorists to consider delaying travel.
