AutoZone, Burger King, Pinky’s Nails and Pet Planet are among the retail outlets that will join Fry’s Marketplace on the northwest corner of Dove Valley Road and North Valley Parkway, according to the developer.
Pet Planet is a family business with more than 50 stores in Canada and the United States. Billing itself as a “natural” pet grocer, it sells pet food and products and offers grooming services.
While construction on the Fry’s building is well underway, work on the pads and stores that will house the other businesses hasn’t begun. But interest has been high, said David Beckham of Beckham Gumbin Ventures.
Other businesses coming to the plaza, called Canyon Crossroads: Great Clips and Barro’s Pizza. More than a half-dozen spots remain.
Fry’s proceeds on schedule for a spring opening, said company spokesperson JoEllen Lynn, though a firm date hasn’t been set. The new grocery store will be about 40 percent larger than the Anthem location. A similarly large Fry’s Marketplace opened Jan. 13 in Peoria, at the corner of Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway.
