Rainfall Totals and the Wet Forecast

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

This week’s storm has brought anywhere from 1/2-inch to nearly an inch across the North Valley, with showers and heavy rain predicted through Friday. Storm totals so far, according to gauges operated by the Flood Control District of Maricopa County:

  • Anthem West: 0.51″
  • Anthem North: 0.59 inches
  • New River: 0.75 inches
  • Desert Hills: 0.79 inches
  • Tramonto: 0.91 inches
  • Sonoran Foothills: 0.83 inches
  • Norterra: 0.79 inches

Just over 1 inch has fallen downtown. The National Weather Service forecast for Anthem and surrounding areas in far North Phoenix calls for another inch or more through tonight, then showers Friday and Friday night. Saturday should be mostly sunny with a high of 69 degrees, and Sunday will be sunny and 73.
