Ding, Ding! Local Salvation Army Seeks Volunteers

The Anthem Salvation Army Unit is seeking volunteer bell ringers—individuals, couples, families or groups—for its annual Red Kettle Campaign from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Time slots are open in two-hour blocks on Fridays and Saturdays at four locations: Walmart-Anthem, Fry’s in Anthem and on Dove Valley Road, and Safeway in Anthem.

The Anthem Salvation Army Unit has assisted 72 Anthem-area families more than $25,000 in utility assistance and also sent 6 children to summer camp this past year, said local spokesperson Del Mau.

The Red Kettle Campaign, dating back to 1891, is the largest and longest-running fundraiser of its kind. It raised $144.5 million during the 2017 campaign. Kicking the campaign off, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Meghan Trainor will perform live during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys game against the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving Day.
