Giant Rustic Pizza Coming to Anthem

The owner of Ocho Locos Mexican Restaurant plans to open an artisan-style pizza restaurant in Anthem May 1. It will be the second location for Giant Rustic Pizza; the first is on Camelback Road in Phoenix.

The exact location has not been revealed.

The restaurant uses artisan flour, mountain spring water, vine-ripened California tomatoes, and whole-milk Wisconsin mozzarella that’s shredded daily. The restaurant will offer pasta dishes, salads and sandwiches, said owner John Wunder. “Our sandwich bread is baked daily from our pizza dough.”

Why Anthem?

“Giant Rustic Pizza is a hand-tossed, hearth-baked artisan-style pizza,” Wunder said. “There is no pizza in Anthem like it.” He added: “Camelback is wildly successful. Anthem will be twice the size of the Camelback location.”

Starting price for a 20-inch pizza will be $15.95. The restaurant will serve beer and wine.
