ENCLAVE AT ANTHEM — In honor of National Military Appreciation Month (May), Anthem’s newest senior living community, The Enclave at Anthem, along with Youth for Troops, Daisy Mountain Veterans, and the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders will honor resident veterans with the public unveiling of its “Hero Wall,” a special area in the community where the names and photos of each veteran are prominently displayed.
The community is home to 28 veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
The unveiling event will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a procession of the veteran residents under flags held high by Youth for Troops’ students and past the Hero Wall into seats of honor. An Arizona Patriot Guard Riders representative will thank the veterans and lead a patriotic song, and the group’s chaplain will say a short prayer. Sam Crump, president of Daisy Mountain Veterans and emcee, will conclude the ceremony with a presentation of medals and thank-you cards made by Youth for Troops.
