Understanding Constellations as the Ancients Did
May 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Event Navigation
Confounded by the constellations? Here’s a chance to learn something. Danielle Adams, a NASA Space Grant Fellow and PhD candidate at UofA, will use ancient poetry and star calendars to demonstrate how Arab societies viewed the night sky before they adopted Greek astronomy.
Afterwards, weather permitting, everyone will go outside and Adams will help identify constellations. Thursday, May 11, 7–9 p.m. at the Anthem Civic Building. Sponsored by the Desert Foothills Astronomy Club.
Open to the public and free.
