Farmers Insurance Opens North Phoenix Office

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

One of the largest regional Farmers Insurance offices in the country is now open in North Phoenix, bringing 400 new jobs to the area this year and 1,000 over time, the company announced today as part of its grand opening.

“We had some employees working in here for the past several weeks, but today officially marks we are in business here and now wanting to hire more employees to work out of this huge regional office,” company spokesperson Trevor Chapman said in an email.

The 150,000-square-foot office complex, at Pinnacle Peak Road and I-17, is part of a broad growth trend in commercial space and jobs in North Phoenix and around the metro area. [See: Hundreds of North Phoenix Jobs Open Right Now.]

In addition to the jobs at the regional office, Farmers plans to grow the number of agents in Arizona, the company said in a statement today.

“With the opening of this new facility, we look forward to expanding our ability to serve the needs of even more Farmers Insurance customers,” said Keith Daly, chief claims officer.

Several city officials were expected to be on hand for the grand opening.

“With today’s expansion of the Farmers Insurance Group regional office, they are adding a significant number of new jobs in Phoenix,” Phoenix Councilwoman Thelda Williams said in a statement. “The new office in the Norterra area shows the quality workforce in Phoenix’s financial services sector and we are happy that they chose Phoenix.”

The tripling of Farmers’ employee base in Phoenix “shows that our region is top of mind for great national companies looking to expand,” said Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton. “Our outstanding talent pool, unmatched quality of life and supportive economic development team will help make this expansion a success.”
