Water Main Break Floods Some Anthem Streets

Water was turned off to some Anthem west-side residents after a broken water main under W. Moss Springs Road sent a minor flood into the streets Saturday afternoon.

City of Phoenix Water Works crews were on the scene at 3:40 p.m. shutting off water. Phoenix Police blocked off a short section of W. Moss Springs Road because, an officer said, the street might collapse at the source of the leak when the water was turned off.

A homeowner confirmed to North Phoenix News that water had been turned off.

Muddy water bubbled up at the site of the break, ran on both sides of the street, crossed the intersection at N. 45th Drive and flowed south onto W. Stoneman Drive. The water appeared to be confined mostly to streets but crept into some front yards in the area, just west of Wal-Mart.

If you were affected by this, please post to our Anthem News Facebook discussion.
