Anthem Election Results Announced

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

Anthem’s election results are in for the Anthem Parkside Community Association (APCA) and the Anthem Country Club Community Association (ACCCA).

Parkside residents elected Bettye Ruff, and incumbents Doug Sutherland and Chris Yano, to two-year terms on the APCA Board of Directors, according to a statement from the HOA. Incumbent Terry Mullarkey was elected to a three-year term to the Anthem Community Council (ACC) Board of Directors as a representative of Parkside.

Country Club residents elected Carl Benner, Barbara Birdseye and Gregory Strand to the ACCCA Board, the HOA announced. Bob McKenzie won re-election for a three-year term as the Country Club representative on the ACC Board of Directors.

The winners will take their seats at their respective April board meetings and new officers will be elected by the boards.

John Balzer retained his seat representing the Village at Anthem HOA on the ACC Board, according to a statement from ACC. The Village HOA voting, for two seats on the HOA board, will be counted at the HOA’s annual meeting March 29, said Community Manager Dwight Reid. “Results will be announced after that,” he said.
