Discounts and Safety for Young Drivers

Most insurance companies offer discounts for young drivers to help keep auto insurance costs down, according to Justin Simons, a State Farm agent in Anthem.

“Some of those include good grades (3.0 GPA or higher), driver’s training courses and multiple policy discounts,” he says. “Now insurance companies are offering apps that monitor safe driving. Not only do these programs offer discounts, they also help parents track driving habits of youthful drivers.”

About nine teenage drivers die every day in car accidents across the country, Simons points out. “Hopefully these various programs can help reduce that number,” he says.
