Replace Your Old A/C to Save Money

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

Most original air-conditioning systems in Anthem are nearing the end of their useful life, says Tyler Ringe, president of ProSkill Services. Replacing an A/C system after 15 years, rather than waiting five more years, will always be a better financial decision, just considering the energy savings of newer units, Ringe says.

“While it’s true a system can be repeatedly repaired, prolonging the inevitable is not saving you any money, he says. “Actually, it’s costing you more.”

“If you add in repair cost associated with keeping the system going after 15 years, many homeowners will break even within about five years of installing a new system,” Ringe says, while enjoying a more comfortable home.”
