Loop 101 Ramps to Close Jan. 5

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

ADOT — Drivers who use on- and off-ramps at the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) and Seventh Avenue in Phoenix should plan for an extended closure beginning the evening of Sunday, Jan. 5. (This closure was originally scheduled to begin early Monday, Jan. 6, and was rescheduled.)

The Loop 101 westbound off-ramp and eastbound on-ramp at Seventh Avenue will be closed around-the-clock beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, through March 2020. Note: The westbound on-ramp and eastbound off-ramp at Seventh Street are also currently closed through March 2020.

DETOURS

Drivers should allow extra travel time while the following detours are in place:

  • Westbound: Drivers can exit westbound Loop 101 at Seventh Street and enter westbound Loop 101 at Seventh Avenue via the westbound frontage Road (Beardsley Road).
  • Eastbound: Drivers can exit eastbound Loop 101 at Seventh Avenue and enter eastbound Loop 101 at Seventh Street via the eastbound frontage road.

The ramp closures are needed so crews can widen bridges and reconstruct ramps between Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street to accommodate the additional lanes being constructed on the freeway. To learn more about this project, visit the webpage.
