Goodwill Sets Opening Date, Holds Hiring Event

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

Goodwill announced that its new location, under construction just north of Outlets at Anthem, will open April 13. Hiring is underway.

Setup and employee training at the store and donation center will begin March 1, said spokesperson Angie Tapia. The store will be stocked with products from a central warehouse in Phoenix, Tapia told In&Out. No donations will be accepted until the grand opening April 13.

Up to 30 people within a 5-mile radius of the store will be hired. “We are looking for sales associates, donation attendants and retail processors for both full-time and part-time positions,” Tapia said.

The organization accepts donations of appliances, bedding, books and other media, games, furniture, kitchenware, sports equipment, musical instruments, tools, toys and even vehicles.
