Corner Store Set to Open
Update Feb. 14, 2017: The Corner Store convenience market and Valero fuel center plans to open by Friday, Feb. 17 and possibly Thursday afternoon, store manager Dan Wineinger told In&Out today. The store is on the southwest corner of North Valley Parkway and West Sonoran Desert Drive. Wineinger allowed In&Out to take some photos of the inside:

New Gas Station to Serve Hot Growth Area
Even before Sonoran Desert Drive opened earlier this year providing North Phoenix residents a direct connection to I-17 and Loop 303, plans for the area’s first commercial project were underway.
The Corner Store convenience market and Valero fuel center plans to open sometime in February on the southwest corner of North Valley Parkway and West Sonoran Desert Drive, eight-tenths of a mile off I-17. It is bordered by Sonoran Commons, a residential neighborhood under construction by Taylor Morrison.
Plans filed with the City of Phoenix call for a fuel station with seven dispenser islands and a convenience mart offering groceries, snacks, drinks and packaged beer and wine, in addition to other goods.
Access will be off Sonoran Desert Drive and North Valley Parkway. A 6-foot wall at the property line will buffer the neighboring residential area to the south and west.
The fuel station will be the first to open in this hot growth pocket east of I-17. The closest fuel centers are 3 miles north at Carefree Highway or 5 miles south at Happy Valley Road. Fry’s plans to open a fuel center at its Dove Valley location currently under construction and slated to open in Spring 2017.
