Hear From DVUSD Governing Board Candidates in Tuesday Forum

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

Two seats on the Governing Board of Deer Valley Unified School District are up for election on the five-member board in November. In a candidate forum Tuesday, Oct. 2, the candidates will answer questions submitted by parents, teachers, students and others in the community.

This event is sponsored by four DVUSD parent organizations, including the Sonoran Foothills PTSA. These groups will select the questions to asked at the forum from previously solicited submissions.

The forum will be held in the DVUSD Governing Board Room at 20402 N. 15th Avenue in Phoenix. The forum will include a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m., with the forum running from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It will be recorded and available for viewing at www.dvusd.org.

The candidates: incumbents Kimberly Fisher and Ann O’Brien, and challengers Michael Deiana, Matt Dennis, Jennie Paperman and Julie Read.
