32 DVUSD Student Get Perfect State Test Scores

For 15 years, In&Out Magazine has been the definitive source of “Everything that’s going on” in and out of the community. We thank you, our readers, as well as the businesses that support the magazine through advertising, for that opportunity. But with little going on, and many businesses suspending or canceling their ads during the Covid-19 crisis, we are suspending publication of the magazine and web sites for the month of May.

Within Deer Valley Unified School District, 32 students scored the highest possible score on two 2017 assessments, either the English Language Arts (ELA) and Math AzMERIT assessments or the ELA AzMERIT and AIMS Science tests, the district said in a statement Friday. The statement added: “These students represent the top one-tenth of one percent of Deer Valley students.”

Most of those students are represented in the list below and in the two photos above, provided by DVUSD. (Some students were unable to attend either of the two photo sessions, said DVUSD spokesperson Monica Allread. Also, “a few of them moved out of the district and one or two parents didn’t want their kids names listed in the media,” Allread said.)
