DVUSD Picks New Superintendent: Dr. Curtis Finch

The Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) Governing Board voted unanimously last night to hire Dr. Curtis Finch as superintendent, replacing Dr. James Veitenheimer, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

Finch was most recently superintendent of the Mecosta Osceola Intermediate School District in Big Rapids, Mich. He has a degree in secondary mathematics, a Master’s in administration and a Ph.D. in education. Finch has been in school administration for 24 years.

DVUSD plans to schedule events to meet the new superintendent later this summer and fall.
