Police Find Suspect in North Phoenix Restaurant Shooting
Updated 10:18 p.m. — Phoenix Police and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office cooperated Sunday night to locate a man who reportedly fired a shotgun inside Chili’s in Tramonto Marketplace, near I-17 and Carefree Highway.
The suspect entered the restaurant at about 8 p.m. wearing a mask and demanded money, said Phoenix Police Sgt. Vince Lewis. The suspect fired a shot at the ceiling.
There were about 30 customers inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured, according to Lewis.
“The suspect left the area on an ATV,” Lewis said.
The search led law enforcement to Pioneer RV Resort where a subject matching the description of the suspect was detained, Lewis said.
“We are very grateful for the assistance from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Public Safety,” Lewis said. Parts of the investigation are ongoing.
